Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above; preferable in Japanese language/Japanese Studies or related fields; (ii) native or near-native fluency in Japanese; (iii) a good command of English; (iv) a good command of Chinese is an advantage; (v) a pass in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 or equivalent for non-native speaker of Japanese language; (vi) a strong sense of responsibility; (vii) good communication skills; and (viii) the ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

 

The appointee will assist in (a) teaching Japanese language major class tutorial; (b) preparing class materials; (c) test and exam administration; (d) providing administrative support for course registration of elementary Japanese language classes; (e) placement test and make-up class arrangements; (f) summer exchange programme administration; (g) scholarship administration and (h) performing other administrative duties as assigned by the Department. 

 

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
