Students who are interested to apply for transfer to The Department of Japanese Studies in 2026-2027 are required to submit application in CUSIS and return the attached completed application form (PDF / WORD) to the General Office by email at ugjas@cuhk.edu.hk by 12:00 noon 26 June 2025 (Friday), together with the following supporting documents:

1. Copy of the transcript, including transcript of Term 2 of 2025-2026. (The Department’s minimum cumulative GPA requirement is 3.0 and applicants should have already completed (1) at least 6 units of JASP courses and achieved the grade of B- or above; (2) JASP1460 or equivalent as language requirement).
2. Copy of the TOEFL / IELTS^(a) score
3. Copy of the HKDSE result
4. Copy of Japanese Language Proficiency Test result if available

Applicants are expected to attend an English written test and interview in-person tentatively scheduled on 30 June 2026^(b).

(a) Department’s minimum requirement
TOEFL: Score 550（Paper-based Test）or 213（Computer-based Test）or 80 (iBT)
IELTS: 6.0

(b) Tentative Schedule as follows:
English Written Test: 30 June (Tuesday) 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.
Interview: 30 June (Tuesday) starting from 11:a.m. (exact time to be confirmed)
